UptonicaBot

The robot Uptonica uses to read a store's public pages for a free audit.

Uptonica is an AI platform for e-commerce teams, made by Webgas. When someone asks us for a free audit of a store, UptonicaBot reads that store's public product pages, so the report talks about real products.

Only public pages: the home page, the sitemap, product pages and public product feeds. It never logs in, never fills in forms, never reads carts or customer areas.

It always introduces itself with the same name: UptonicaBot/1.0 (+https://uptonica.com/bot). It never pretends to be a browser.

It reads your robots.txt before asking for any page and follows it: first the rules written for UptonicaBot, otherwise those for everyone. If your robots.txt cannot be read, it does not ask. It also honours the wait between one request and the next (Crawl-delay) up to 10 seconds; above that it skips your site.

At most one request per second per site, and it reads a small sample of pages (a few dozen at most) per audit.

If your robots.txt excludes UptonicaBot, we do not read your site in any way. If your site refuses it, it never retries under another name.

It always comes from one dedicated address, used by nothing else: 57.131.168.204.

To stop UptonicaBot, add this to your robots.txt:

User-agent: UptonicaBot
Disallow: /

It takes effect on the next audit (we re-read robots.txt at most an hour after it changes).

We use what we read to build the audit report the requester asked for. We do not sell it and do not use it to train models.
